Well, a few options would be Prodigies, savants, geniuses, talents, apex, disruptors, catalysts etc. Not all of them are perfect, but they’re all better than heros…
Idk why this is an unpopular opinion, I just feel like “hero” is a very low depth, little effort character description. In addition to disliking the term overall I also think it’s very unfitting used in the context it is here. If anything they could all be described better as villains, although I dislike that as well. These people are all very selfish, as you need to be to raise in cultivation at their speed. They show little concern for killing, and they kill for their benefit and not for some overall justice like a “hero” would!
I am very much of the same opinion as George RR Martin on this issue, I think good vs evil or heroes vs villains, lacks a lot of depth and I don’t believe classifying characters like that is good writing. People are more complex than that!
